I lOVE to look at the past year in my rear view mirror. Not because I am glad it is over but rather to see all the great things I did, that I accomplished and even the things I didn’t do as well as I wanted to.
I am a big believer in Change. Life is in a constant state of change and if we don’t stay with them, we got lost in the shuffle. Change is an opportunity to take stock of what’s working and what’s not working, what needs a tweak here and there. So many of us look to the New Year to make changes in our lives and in our businesses, that we think it is our only opportunity.
Well that just isn’t so. Last December I wrote out my marketing strategy for the new year as well personal goals I wanted to achieve. I didn’t have on there; write a book. I decided to write my book: Profit Domination: How Successful Women get on top and stay on top~201 Rules for the Road on July 12th. I had a deadline of October 31st. I had that book in my hand, completed, October 29th! How the heck did I do that?
Last spring I attended an event put on by Suzanne Evans called: Be the Change. I was in a room full of extremely successful people as well as people who were climbing their way to the top.
I was one of those climbers.
I decided then and there that I was going to BE THE CHANGE I wanted for myself and BE one of those successful women.
I learned what it takes to be the success story you want for yourself. It’s persistence, determination and never, ever give up attitude that moved me forward this year. It was learning the skills to sell and market my business and it was joining forces with people who walked the walk and talked the talk. It is not about hoping and wishing and luck. It’s getting your butt off the excuse cycle and start pedaling. The harder and faster you pedal the faster you will get there.
I more than doubled my income in 1 year, which means I have that many more clients, I wrote a book that is getting fantastic reviews, I increased my rates and developed new product, new services and I have come face to face with my excuses that have stopped me in the past, only to blow past them and flip them the bird at the same time.
I am becoming recognized as a player in my industry and have spoken at major events including those with Suzanne Evans (and Larry Winget of A and E’s Big Spender). I am now being ASKED to speak at events!
The best part is that I now have the traction and I am picking up speed and momentum that this year is going to be a double double (Canadian Tim Horton lovers will get that!).
